Ukrainian girl Diana Koftun has been crowned Miss Deaf World 2009. The title of first vice-miss went to Simhiwe Magaguga, second vice-miss to Maria Baranova, from Russia. Title of Miss Deaf Europe went to Nina Davitinidze, from Gruzia.
Final ninth year of Miss Deaf World 2009 took place yesterday at 19.30 in Prague, Czech. Competitions of beauty Deaf participated in 21 finalists from around the world.
"I still cannot believe that I've won the title of Miss Deaf World 2008 and the fact is that I need to get used to the idea that it is me who actually won the competition. When they called out number 12, I was dreaming and forgot that the number 12 was mine! It was such a buzz feeling to see hundreds and hundreds of people cheering! At the same time, it was brilliant, fantastic feeling!"
Miss Deaf World 2008: Rosanna Mazzocchio from Great Britain
19 years old Rosanna Mazzocchio from Great Britain has been crowned Miss Deaf World 2008. The title of first vice-miss went to Michaela Theimerova, 21, from Czech Republic and second vice-miss to Yulina Arslanova , 19, from Russia. The title Miss Sympathy won Jasmin Katzberg, 22, from Germany. Special title from sponsor, Miss Astora Design won Iwona Cichosz, 19, from Poland.
Sixteen young women from various countries competed in the finals for the eighth Miss Deaf title in history. The winner was crowned with a crystal crown worth about 360,000 crowns ($1=14.850 crowns).

17 years old Ivana Novelic from Serbia and Montenegro has been crowned Miss Deaf World 2006 in Prague.
